Layouts to share

I have been busy creating some layouts....

This photo is of Jamie with his new MP3 player he received for his birthday. This gift was definitely his favourite out of many many presents...

And a double layout, which I found quite hard to put together as I have not done a double layout since Reality Scrap last year.... I am defintiely more comfortable doing single layouts, they come together more easily...

Thanks for looking...

Back to School

Finally the day is here, not that I was looking forward to it but to stop Jamie nagging me about going back LOL. He has been counting down the days for over a week now and all weekend he kept telling everyone "back to school Tuesday".
He was up with the sparrows this morning, he poked his head around the hallway about quarter to six and said "morning Mum, back to school today"....
He went straight back to him room and brought out the brand new uniforms I had bought and asked if these were the ones he was able to wear today..... He helped me pack his lunch and bag and quickly had breakfast all the while keeping a close eye on the time. I had to convince him to let me take a few photos, he said NO more but I said "you don't want mummy to cry do you?" I had him convinced and he let me take a few more photos with his gigantic bag on his back...
By 8 am he was out the door waiting on the footpath for his bus, but coming back and forth to the door every minute saying "late" and pointing to his wrist, like pointing to the time! Thank goodness the bus arrived at 8.15 with him running back to me at the front door and kissing me goodbye.... He was so excited to go and he fully understood that he was getting a new teacher, classroom and students....
These are a few of my favourite photos....

I also took photos of his bag, lunch, shoes etc as I am normally the one every year that picks his stuff but this year he chose everything :) I do forget that he is getting older and my other kids were doing this sort of thing way earlier... at least he is getting more independent and knows exactly what he wants cause I could not change his mind on anything!!!

I hope all your kids had a great first day back or some are back tomorrow.
Till next time

Lauren's Layouts

Lauren from SBC asked a few of us to scrap a couple layouts of her Europe holiday... Of course I agreed... I love a challenge. And these photos definitely were different from anything I have done before! Also it was my first time doing a size 8.5 x 11 layout.
I also found it hard to find some nice embellishments in the travel section or even heritage style embellishments to suit these photos. So I had to really put my thinking cap on!!! I also left journaling spots on the layouts so Lauren could write a little about these photos...
Lauren should have received these by now so I thought I would share....
So here they are....

The Canals of Venice.

Italy at Night.

Leaning Tower of Pisa

Colosseum in Rome

St Peter's in Vatican City...

Jamie's School Concert

I found this old post that I never ended up Publishing, not sure why.... But these were photos of Jamie's end of Year Concert...

On Friday Jamie had his end of year Christmas Concert, it was fantastic as usual. Jamie and 2 other classes joined together to do "Summer Holiday" and "A Boogie Christmas" they were both beach themes. Jamie was right out the front playing on his guitar, he was so good and boogied around the stage like a little pro....

These are some of my favourite photos of him :)

A Year in Review

The Year 2007, what did it bring YOU?

The start of the year started out not so good for ME, I think I was on an emotional rollercoaster! As the end of 2006 ended in a miscarriage, after Andrew and I trying for so long in wanting to share the joy of having a baby together.

The first week of 2007 saw my little boy Jamie became a teenager.
January was the start of Reality Scrap and I made it all the way to runner up which was fantastic, I enjoyed the challenges and the commitment every week.
February was the big turn around I needed as I started my health kick and managed to nearly lose 20kgs. From Feb to June and I have managed to still keep it off.
March I started my first CJ with some wonderful ladies and it will not be long now before it is back to ME!
April was my 3rd Wedding Anniversary and my 36th Birthday.
August my daughter got engaged to her high school sweetheart.
September I finally got a job and am now back in the workforce....
November my brother had his right kidney removed because of a cancerous cyst, was scary there for awhile but he is recovering nicely....
December we took a family holiday the first one in about 7 years.

My Scrap Room

I am still on holidays so I have managed to get alot of computer time the last couple of days and have been busy uploading...
Well as I promised a few photos of my scrap room, this is all I have accomplished at the moment. Still have alot of organising to DO!

I LOVE buttons and I bought these little bottles from Ikea 2 for $2.50. I did buy 10 packs but I think I will need more..... they are so cute!

I also bought these little bottles form Ikea 4 for $2.95...... I stored all my little flowers in them but did not buy enough bottles so will definitely need to get more. I don't have a big collection of small flowers and was really surprised when I went through my stash.

This is a photo of my large shelves in my room.... the white baskets at the bottom I bought from Ikea too.... they were $7.95 each... I have put my paints, stamps, tools, punches etc in them.... I want to make tag labels for them.... The black boxes are the collapsible boxes from Woolworths for $3.79 each... I have my chipboard shapes, monograms etc in these....

Still have a lot of organising to do with my table side but my space is limited due to having to share my room NOW!!!! But I have a another shelf that a friend gave me that I am going to use for a displaying all my OTP items....

Layouts to Share

These are the layouts I entered into the FK awards...

The Journaling Reads:
You have always been a happy child content to just sit alone quietly and daydream the time away. You seem to take yourself off to another place entirely and I often wonder where your imagination takes you.....what you are thinking....what do you see? Just for one moment I would love to know!

The Journaling Reads:
Dear Bailey, The fascinated expression on your little baby face as you play with these books is so cute to see. It really does look like you're reading an extremely interesting story!

Journaling Reads
You are so impatient for summer to arrive as you cant wait to get down to the beach and play amongst the waves. You laugh with delight as the soft sand squishes between your toes, the cool water splashes against your legs and the bright sunshine warms your face. Your youthful energy lasts for hours, but i never tire of watching you enjoy the simple pleasure of frolicking around the shallow surf on a hot summers day.

Will come back later with a few more layouts to share!

Our Holiday House

Jamie had his own room with lounge room, tv, and bathroom.

This was my bedroom, with balcony.

The Kitchen was awesome and came equipped with everything!

The living area opened up with bifold doors to the entertaining area outside.

This was the downstairs lounge room....behind those closed doors was Charlene and Stephen's room and bathroom.....

Christmas Lunch

We had a great selection of seafood for our Christmas Lunch....

Christmas Morning

These are a few photos of Christmas morning, we did take a little tree with us and decorated it to put the presents under.....

Jamie was Santa's little helper this year, he loves handing out the presents....

And of course the photo nobody likes to show...... the aftermath!!!

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year

I know it is late as I have been slack in updating but as I told you in my last blog entry I have been busy busy busy!!!!
I hope everyone had a stress free Christmas spent with loved ones and received some wonderful gifts.... of course as I mentioned before I received my 400D camera and took heaps of photos over Christmas... Will share once I am able to download them on the computer.
We had a wonderful week away in Noosa in a beautiful holiday home, pure luxury! We had 3 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms mine had a spa, air con, dishwasher, gazebo outside for entertaining, a pool but unfortunately not much sunshine. We did manage to go to the beach once and have a play in the cool water. YThe handy thing was we were walking distance to everything, the shops, restaurants, coffee shops ets.... We would walk along the river everyday, to have a swim, kayak, fishing or have a coffee in the many coffee shops along the way.
We arrived home New Years Eve exhausted and stayed at home and saw the new year in than went to bed.. I hope everyone had a better one than ME! But have a very Safe and Healthy year to every one that reads my blog!
Next time I promise I will upload some layouts I have had sitting here for awhile and photos of my holiday..... oh and I have been tidying up my scrap room the last couple of days and went out to Ikea and bought some new storage baskets etc and once it is complete I will take some photos.... It is looking awesome!
Till next time take care
Brenda xx
