For Keeps Entry
OK I got my layouts back to day from For Keeps (finally) got 4 back so the one of Zoey is missing... So I am finally glad to share.. Not bothered by not winning anything and am happy with some of the layouts that I decided to enter!...Watch out this is a long post as I added my journalling in here as well.
NEW FRIENDS....
For most children, making friends is a straightforward everyday occurrence, but to Jamie this is something that has never happened other than at school. As Jamie has limited speech and is only able to express basic communication skills, it's very difficult for him to be able to make new friends. A further difficulty is that, in social situations, rarely does another child want to interact with Jamie.
Katrina and I have been friends for over a year now, and we decided it was time for our children to meet and get to know one another. This was a huge step for me - one I had hesitated to take for so many years with my other friends and their children. I appreciated the fact that Katrina took the time to explain to her kids about Jamie - that although he is different in some ways, he is still a loveable little boy (just like them!) who needs friends to play with.
Mason is only four, and didn't really understand, but he was just so excited, and wanted to teach Jamie whatever he could. Gideon at nine, is a few years older, and was very inquisitive and asked so many questions, but he was there by Jamie's side, and more than willing to interact with him. At first, I was there with the kids, mainly to help them communicate, but after a little while, stepped back and watched them from a short distance - laughing and playing together. It definitely brought tears to my eyes - to see my son's joy in the simple pleasure of playing alongside those two little boys is an image that will stay in my heart forever.
Although this is just the beginning of their friendship, I hope they will always remain friends, because no matter what life brings you - I believe every child deserves to have that 'special someone' to call 'my friend'.
GLIMPSES OF ME...
This was ME using my Tiles, I mentioned long time ago but I could not show you as I had decided to enter this into the comp.
ALMOST A TEEN....
This is a old layout that I did in March this year, but became one of my favourites. I love these photos of Jamie. But the journalling reads, You light up my LIFE with your playful and loving nature and its not only me who feels this way, but anyone that meets you is instantly won over. Becoming a teen is such a big milestone in your life and everyday we have you in our lives is a BONUS! Love Mum xxx
TRYING TO PIECE TOGETHER YOUR THOUGHTS....
'Trying to piece together your thoughts' is my favourite layout, I love this photo of Jamie and I love the journalling. As being Jamie's mother this is the one thing that means the most to me and what I think about all the time. Just for one moment to be able to know what you are thinking, to be able to see the world as you do and maybe it would help me understand how your mind works....
